Animated Short: Le Gouffre (The Gulf)

Le Gouffre is the first animated short film produced and directed by Lightning Boy Studio, a young creative team based in Montreal. The film tells the story of two spirited travelers who come across an incredibly wide chasm on their journey and decide to build a bridge to cross it. Released in February 2015, the project had first gained a lot of attention following the huge success of its Kickstarter campaign, which allowed the creators to finance the movie’s post-production. Many were impressed by the passion and determination of the small team of three animators, who spent more than two full years creating the 10-minute film.

As of now, Le Gouffre has been selected in more than 60 festivals around the world and won nine awards, four of them for “Best Animated Short”. For the complete list of selections and awards, please head over to the Awards page.

The Team

Lightning Boy Studio was born in 2012 out of a shared passion: to tell great stories. The three founders met in animation school in 2009 and have dreamed ever since to be able to work together on projects of their own. Le Gouffre was the result of their first collaboration.

Hyundai Motorsport 2016 Stop Motion Animation

 Hyundai has come up with a beautiful Stop Motion Animation of an i20 conquering the 2016 World Rally Championship. It is definitely a tedious work to make a Stop Motion Animation but the final results make it worth each of the 30 frames that take to make one second of the video.

The important point is that what predictions (more like assumptions) of a particular futuristic date and what we would have accomplished during that time is the main concern. I came across this article on Wonderful Engineering and the original video was created by the Business Insider. This shows the real backbone of our Network which caters to 99% of the communication around the world. The video below shows all the existing undersea cables laid down between locations.

Most of the internet communication is still done with the help of high-speed underwater cables. While some of us are lucky to use satellite communication directly, the fact remains that these cables are the backbone of today’s connected world. Their importance can be gauged from the fact that when a country experiences a breakdown of these cables, the internet is choked, and every online work is halted, leading to a massive backlog.

The total length of these underwater cables is close to an astonishing 885,000 kilometers. It means that these lines can circumnavigate the world more than 22 times. It has almost 99 % data circulating throughout the world from social media newsfeeds to sensitive military information.

The Badass Inc Game

Just came across this game and thoroughly enjoyed the retro feel i got of Pixel art and 2D gaming. You can play it online or even download it. The music adds to the feel to the game. Without much going in details, I will suggest that one should play it, can take anywhere from 10 mins to 30 mins depending how one tackles the game. The more I say will end up in the zone of spoilers. Also, another information to be kept in mind is that some swear words are used, so beware your kids. Overwatch Cinematic & Gameplay Trailer Released

During the latest BlizzCon 2014 held on 7th and 8th November 2014, Blizzard Entertainment released the Cinematic & Gameplay Trailers of their new Multiplayer first-person shooter video game "OVERWATCH".
