Instant Estimator / Evaluator

Getting your point across to make people understand your business is what advertisements are suppose to do. But when a business tries to get in touch with each individual customer, then it is something in the right direction. A used car dealer in Taiwan - Kagulu came up with moving advertising truck as a Price Scanner which made instant estimation of the vehicle one is driving. Give it a look, the advertisement is in Taiwanese, but keep the caption on to read the English subtitles.

The above advertisement is said to be inspired (having traces of) from the Audi - Instant Valuation Billboard advertisement. It is amazing to see the expressions on people faces when they feel the advertisement is directly connecting with them on an individual level.

Minesweeper Super Challenge

Nostalgia is something this game brings back. Once you understand how this worked, the game gets you hooked trying to detect all the mines and then the time challenge. Ofcourse, then the size of the challenge. Starting with
  • Beginner : 10 mines (9 x 9 tile grid)
  • Intermediate : 40 mines (16 x 16 tile grid)
  • Advanced : 99  mines (16 x 30 tile grid)
There are more advance version available online and one such was solved and uploaded on Youtube. The game contained 1412 mines with a tile grid of 58 x 118 board. It took the user 59 mins 48 seconds to complete. The Time lapse video below is of 6:14 mins.

Then the question arises - What next? Looks like the people at Cinemassive are creative and also lovers of this game. They brought in something to make this more challenging. One of their impressive products are the Video Wall which contain an array of HD monitors or TV screens seemlessly connected to each other. They have gone and made a challenge of minesweeper which is epic due to its size, thus naming it the Minesweeper Super Challenge.

The Magnus Effect - Curve Ball

The Magnus Effect is the curving of a moving object due to a spin on the object generally a ball (WIKIPEDIA). More explanations in the videos with amazing footage of the effects on basketball and soccer ball. Real Life First Person Shooter Live Action

We have games, then we have live action videos; but now we have Live Action Games. That too the first one to dive into is First Person Shooter category. The creator at Realm Pictures came up with the idea of bring First person Shooter in Real life but also wanted the users to enjoy and participate interactively, by making it a Real Life First Person Shooter Live Action Experience. A lot of hard work and time went into getting this done as the whole thing was live for the users at Chatroulette who had no idea what they were getting themselves into once logging into the video chat. I was really thrilled to see that the people who participated on the video chat were hooked to it. I think some of them have never played games, or even first person shooter at that. Getting them interested in this might open a new front for the gaming developers/community. Below is the behind the scenes of how all the things came together.

The Badass Inc Game

Just came across this game and thoroughly enjoyed the retro feel i got of Pixel art and 2D gaming. You can play it online or even download it. The music adds to the feel to the game. Without much going in details, I will suggest that one should play it, can take anywhere from 10 mins to 30 mins depending how one tackles the game. The more I say will end up in the zone of spoilers. Also, another information to be kept in mind is that some swear words are used, so beware your kids. The only thing I can give for now is the trailer below.

Chain Reaction / Domino Effect Honda and 3M Videos

The Honda Accord - the Cog commercial which was released around a decade ago, marked an entry into Chain reaction / Domino effects performed in an advertisement. That also without special effects. (The concept shown is known as Rube Goldberg Machine - It is a contraption, invention, device or apparatus that is deliberately over-engineered or overdone to perform a very simply task in a very complicated fashion, usually including a chain reaction CLICK HERE). The whole idea of the Ad was to show the insides of the car to the viewers (Approximately 140 parts of the car can be seen in the advertisement). Check the video below.

The above video was put up on Youtube which is in HD. Below is the video of how the above video was created and the amount of manpower it took. The whole video was done without any special effects, but definitely a lot of hard work goes into making it. Get that information below. The concept took months and the shooting was done in 4 days with over 600 takes.

The whole recap of the above commercial came into my mind as 3M people took out a similar kind of commercial recently. So first thing that came into the mind was the Honda - the cog commercial.

"Slap Her" children's reaction

This social experiment was conducted in Italy and the video was uploaded just after new years in 2015. You can check out the youtube channel of Fanpage which is responsible for the below video. In the video, the young boys were asked a few questions and then introduced to a girl of their age. They were tested with a few tasks to do which they obliged until they were asked to SLAP HER. Check to find out what their reaction is and what they think about slapping a girl. The video is in Italian with English Subtitles.

Based on the Fanpage social experiment, there has been a lot of parody videos which have been made. But the purpose of the above videos is to send a message out about a problem that we face and that resonates throughout the world. Hope we learn a lesson and are able to better ourselves.
